Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my right kidney removed in 1998 (cancer), and I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May, 2009. I do not have any problems with these maladies except for a lot of drugs, and I have type 2 diabetes. My problem is that about two years ago, I became cold around the house and outside the house - the opposite of beforehand. My thyroid supposedly is performing okay, but I am still cold all the time. Could there be another reason that my body has gone from hot to cold?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Impaired thyroid function and long-standing type 2 diabetes can cause low body temperature apart from other atmospheric conditions. Excessive alcohol indulgence can cause low body temperature.

What Causes Cold Body Temperature?
Hi, Impaired thyroid function and long-standing type 2 diabetes can cause low body temperature apart from other atmospheric conditions. Excessive alcohol indulgence can cause low body temperature. You need to get your thyroid function tests done to exclude impaired function and get specific treatment as per need. Long-standing diabetes can cause peripheral neuropathy to give an impression of cold extremities and body. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
