What Causes Cold, Fever And Chest Congestion?

Congestion like a cold, fever shows up each night (6 days so far) but not during the day. Just when I think its over, its not. Is this worth a DR visit or let it run its course? I was around someone the previous week who might have had the same symptoms. Any suggestions?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you symptoms of cold, fever and chest congestion which is due to severe upper respiratory tract infection occur due to bacterial as well as viral infection. It could be due to poor immunity of body as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper checkup. Doctor may order certain test to confirm the diagnosis like blood test, throat swab test and prescribe X-ray chest examination as well. You should start treatment after complete examination. You should avoid taking outside food. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. You should take proper course of antiviral/ antibacterial medication along with antiinflammatory medication.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
