I feel cold in my hands and feet but I m sweating. It hurts to walk my legs tingle and burn. My hands feel numb and my third finger hurts on both hands. This has been going on for a month but has recently gotten worse. I also have stomach problems, burning, cramps, and pain in the lower part of my stomach. My big toe is swollen and the upper area of the bottom of my foot is swollen to. Their is also redness on the bottom of my feet.
Burning or abnormal sensations in the body are usually related to the nerves. This is called peripheral neuropathy and this occurs due to abnormal structure or function of the nerves.
There are different possible causes such as: (1)diabetes (2)trauma (3)vitamin b12 or folate def (4)liver or kidney disease (5)side effect of medication (6)infections (7)some hormonal or autoimmune disease (8)idiopathic-cause is not known
Blood tests can check vitamin levels, screen for diabetes as well as hormonal and autoimmune diseases. Blood tests can also check for liver and kidney disease
There are medications that can help with nerve related discomfort/sensations.
I hope this helps
