Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had this coldness in the back of my throat for months now. Seems like the more I get worked up it comes on stronger. Saw my doctor and he told me to take Zertec D. Took it and it still hasn t gone away. Went to the ER and they told me to stop taking Zertec because it may be drying out my throat. I was told to take Pepsid AC because it seems to come on when I am overwhelmed/Stressed/Anxecious? Now I have a caugh with yellow mucus for about a week. My quility of life is stressing. The coldness in my throat is not painful just annoying. Seems to come on when stressed or when I eat tomato products? Please help? I m tired of going back and forth. I m 41 with 4 kids and I am a teacher and this annoying feeling is getting the best of me.
So my suggestion is to consult an otolaryngologist and get evaluated. For now, you can take Mucinex cough syrup.
Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room. Do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles. Avoid spicy and irritant foods. Drink plenty of water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Dr Honey Arora, Dentist
