What Causes Cold Symptoms While On Amoxicillin?

Hi Dr. I took three doses of amoxicillin for my cellulitis around my eye and went back to the doctor this morning because my cellulitis did not improve. I am now taking sulfameth and cephalexin. Since I started on the antibiotics I began to feel fever, sore throat, and now runny nose. Are my cold symptoms due to the antibiotics? Thank you

Hi,
your problem of having symptoms of upper respiratory tract might not be due to antibiotic medicine but might be due to spreading eye infection to nose and throat.
Continue with antibiotic.
Do hot water gargles.
Take some decongestant medicine as well.
Ok and take care.
