What Causes Coma In Case Of Hypertension?

my grand dad was just admitted to intensive care ( 12 hours ago)
he is a smoker for the alst 50 years or so, i dotn know yet whats his diagnosis but i think its hypertension since he also has high BP
his hear stopped for 20 mins.
he is now in a comma
whats going on?
