What Causes Confusion And Hallucinations After Recovering From A Gastric Surgery?

Re a 75-year-old bed-bound patient recovering from major gastric surgery plus complication of unknown severe viral or bacterial infection, with extreme weakness to point of not being able to even get himself out of bed to a wheelchair, who is now experiencing confusion and visual hallucinations, what would be the most likely cause? This is taking place in Mexico where getting medical attention is very difficult if not impossible.

hello,
the infection may be the cause of confusion and visuak halucination, it may be causing viremia/bacteremia and most probably encefalopathia. you should go to the ER to have detailed medical care.
Best,
Anisa
