What Causes Constant Burning Sensation And Pain In Thigh?

Hi Doctor. I m a 60 yo female trying to get a diagnosis on this combination of issues for over a year. Constant burning twisting pain of the FRONT of my thigh. One to four times a day I experience an excruciating shooting pain in same area that feels like the femur just cracked, the leg gives out and I drop a little. Also have many symptoms that make me think I gave candida yeast overgrowth, but I don t know if these things could be related and I can t get an answer from my HMO docs. Symptoms include raw mouth and tongue, itchy scalp, face, ears and all over really (no allergies according to allergist), urinary tract infection, fibromyalgia and a few other things. Hoping you can point me in a direction to have doctors investigate. Btw, have had two mri s, multiple leg X-rays, two steroid injections each in my spine and bursa, a lumbar medial branch block, and physical therapy in the past six months. Thank you! Sheryl

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Kindly rule out diabetes which is the common causes of burning sensation, itchiness and candida infection. Both fasting and post prandial sugar must be taken.

All causes of neuropathy or peripheral neuropathy should be ruled out.Diabetes,Sciatica,Nutritional deficiencies such as vitamin b12 deficiencies, autoimmune disease, certain medication side effects should be ruled out.

Treatment is based on the cause.Hot compress and vitamin b12 injection can reduce the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
