What Causes Constant Cough And Cold In A Diabetic Patient?

Hi Doctor, My father is 62 years old now, he is having diabetes for past 13 years. He used to get seasonal cough. But now he is having more often continuous cough n cold since 2 months. At the time of coughing, he couldn t breath through nose. He is struggling to breath. I want to know the answers for following questions, 1. What is the reason for this continuous cough? 2. it can be allergic bronchitis. consult pulmunologist for examination and advise on treatment get blood test to look for eosinophil. consult dibetologistfor micromanagement diabetes. uncontrolled diabetes may give rise to such problem cause of obstructive lung disorder is to be diagnosed. can take benadryl cough syrup if there is bronchial constriction then can take tab deriphylin. for other problem symptomatic treatment ca be taken..you might be having allergic reaction to pet in house or any food matter. can go for allergy test and known allergen can be avoided.cosmetic can be avoided
