What Causes Constant Cough And Cold?

Dear Sir my father is suffering from cough & cold for a fairly long time. the problem is that it results in constant coughing which lasts for months altogether. Last time he contracted cough it lasted for 2 months altogether. The problem is that even after taking medicine or antibiotics, coughing does not recedes. We are very disappointed. Should we consult a Pulmonologist for indepth check up or should we consult some other doctor. Every thing in the test appears to be normal. Please guide us.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello & welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
Your clinical history is suggestive of chronic cough .
Most common causes of chronic cough
1)Upper airway cough syndrome (UACS), previously referred to as postnasal drip syndrome (PNDS)
2)Asthma
3)Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
4)Tuberculosis
I would advice , you should consult both ENT specialist & Pulmonologist .

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
