What Causes Constant Cough When Diagnosed With Asthma?
I have had a cough for almost 2 weeks. I was diagnosed with asthma years ago so I have been using my inhaler more than normal. I get horrible coughing spells....sometimes it is a wet cough and other days a dry hacking cough. Due to my coughing spells, I think I may have pulled a muscle under my right breast or maybe thinking I have pleurisy, The pain when I cough is excruciating and almost brings me to tears. My cough has not been discolored so I m assuming it is not bronchitis. I have had bronchitis many times and have had pneumonia twice. Your thoughts?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have constant cough and diagnosed with asthma . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to cough-variant asthma in which the main symptom is a dry, non-productive coughCough-variant asthma is sometimes called chronic cough . Coughing may start after people are exposed to allergens, or when they are breathing in cold air. Coughing may also follow an upper respiratory infection like sinusitis . I would suggest you to consult allergy specialist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe asthma inhaler with albuterol, ipratropium, and/or inhaled steroids .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
