What Causes Constant Coughing And A Tickling In The Throat?

For the past few days i ve been coughing a lot, when i cough my throat doesn t hurt. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night coughing like crazy for a couple of minutes, it feels like my throat is tickling me. Other than that I feel like I have a little ball in my throat and whenever I lift my head up to the sky it tickles me and makes me cough.

Hello,

Very likely you are having a viral infection that is causing you to have this cough and tickling in your throat. Having the symptoms for only a few days is another reason to consider a self-limiting condition such as a viral infection.

If the cough lasts more than 2 weeks or there is any worsening then you will need to see your doctor to check your lungs and make sure you do not have pneumonia.

Meanwhile, try to drink plenty of fluids, rest well and use guaifenesin syrup for the cough.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Regards,
