Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been hearing a fizzing/crackling sound in my left ear for the past 2 days. It suddenly appeared and now it comes and goes. There is no pain whatsoever so I am wondering what exactly it is. I pulled my outer ear and felt no pain. Currently I have no fever, nausea or dizziness. I hope someone can help me with this.
Understanding your concern. A per your query you have constant crackling sound in ears as sometimes due to infection like sinusitis through Eustachian tube and ear wax accumulation. The condition is called recurring otitis media. You should gently rinse the ear using a bulb syringe and warm saline solution. I would suggest you to again visit ENT specialist and start treatment by prescribing antibiotic (amoxicillin) course, perform cleansing of ear and treat infection like sinusitis if it is there. Give warm compresses to ear 2-3 times a day and use ear drops containing antibiotics and take rest.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
