What Causes Constant Dull Pain In The Lower Abdomen?
I am a male with a now constant dull pain in my lower ad. I have no bleeding or problem with urinating or bowel movements and I have no sign of blood in the stool or anywhere else. I am 65 year old and on Sat was up and down a latter all day. The next day, Sunday is when the dull pain started. I feel it most when I cough or laugh, does any of this make any sense to moving towards what might be causing this pain? Could this be just a muscle strain?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Your history of going up &down a ladder frequently suggests stress to lower abdominal muscles leading to pain there.
Hot pack, application of relaxant ointment. Avoiding strong message/over the counter pain pills like Ibuprofen would relieve such pain in a couple of days.
Some problem with difficulty in voiding urine / or no relief in two days. You should consult your family physician. I would suggest for a prostate checkup (considering your age) in such an incidence.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
