What Causes Constant Fever Along With Body Pain And Headaches?

Hi, My friend male age 60, last week had a fever 101+ for 4 days. Tylenol would bring it down for a short time, but, then would go back up again. Also had body pain, headache, extreme fatigue but couldn t sleep, loss of appetite and at one point chest was very tight. Had blood work done. Hospital said blood work was good. He is feeling better now, still gets a little tired now and then, but not like before. He had an appointment today with doctor, He said platelets were low and liver enzymes weren t right. He tested blood again today and want s to test again in two weeks. My friend asked if they tested for lymes doctor said no. Do you think it could be lymes, he lives in a very wooded area.

Hello,

Reading at your description I do not see any symptom specific to Lyme, I do not see any reason to test for it.

Those symptoms you mention are nonspecific, meaning they can manifest in many settings, most viral infections starting with the influenza virus can produce that clinical picture.

So I believe your doctor is correct in giving it some time, only if new symptoms appear or anomalies in the repeat tests persist should further investigations be initiated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
