What Causes Constant Fever And Congested Cough In An Elderly Person?

My dad, age 79, has a congested cough, fatigue, and his appetite isn t very good. This has been going on for a couple of weeks. The congestion seemed to be loosening up (he s spitting up gunk) but now he has a fever of 101. I ve been after him since this started to go to the doctor, but he s so stubborn. It s Saturday and he said if he still had fever on Monday he might go to the doctor. Any suggestions? Thank you a concerned daughter.
