What Causes Constant Fever In A Child Despite Taking Medication?

Hi my 10 years old daughter is suffering from high grade fever 104 doctors told me that it s viral .today is the 3rd day.they started antibiotic s on her it s the second day of antibiotics but she still has fever every 5-6hrs? When do I expect her to recover ?she was prescribed mental for fever above 102 but it s taking a long time with meftal to reduce the fever can I give crossing one hour after giving mental to decrease her fever?

Hi,

As you say it is viral fever so naturally, it will take one to two weeks to resolve completely. Don't worry antibiotics will reduce the severity and moreover dosage is yet to complete.so keep cool.

You can give her Paracetamol syrup as well to reduce fever and also maintain her fluids by feeding boiled water, soup etc. But I also advise maintaining cleanliness to her which will ensure fast recovery.
