What Causes Constant Headache, Confusion When With Low Thyroid And High Platelets?

My thyroid has five 1.5-2 cm nodules, blood work comes back with low thyroid and high platelets. I have had a persistent headach for weeks, I m dizzy and have some brain fog/confusion. I have a biopsy scheduled in 3 days, but the headache is killing me. My dr perscribed midrin for the headache, which helps a little. I am getting very concerned about he constant headache. I am wondering if this headache warrants a trip to the emergency room?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that it is necessary performing a brain CT scan to exclude a possible intracranial lesion (tumor, abscess, metastasis) as the possible cause of your symptoms, especially when considering your thyroid nodules (which may also be neoplastic lesions).

It is also important to closely monitor your blood pressure values, because uncontrolled hypertension can lead to severe headaches.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
