What Causes Constant Headache On The Left Side Of Head?

My mom is experiencing almost constant headaches since about February. She has been feeling jolts, (feels like grabbing hold of an electric wire) behind left eye. When she lays down her head feels heavy (and sometimes even when she s standing up). She also feels like there are broken bones, especially in the morning, usually on the left side of her head behind her eye. I am typing her email below.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to orbicular migraine. I suggest using anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day. I also suggest to avoid factors that can trigger the symptoms such as light, stress. I recommend to drink liquids and eat a healthy diet. If the symptoms continue, you should use prescription anti migraine medication such as Triptans.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
