What Causes Constant High Blood Pressure Despite Taking Medication?
55 year old female, I normally take Toprol for high BP. I recently went to a low sodium diet. I ran out of BP meds and picked them up today. Not feeling well, headachy, lightheaded, I took my BP and first reading was 128/43. I get chest pains and have seen cardiologist for a catheter this past September. Small blockage on descending artery, but he promised nothing that would give me a coronary. I ve checked BP a few more times and it s consistently staying around 120/56, 126/58 Should I be concerned?
No there is no reason to be concerned, the readings are not significantly different.
These readings are essentially normal and would not usually be associated with any symptoms.
If you continue to feel unwell, you should see your doctor for assistance. It is possible it may not be related to your heart but due to another cause such as a viral infection.
I hope this helps
