What Causes Constant Itching On The Body Despite Taking Medication?
i have been suffering from severe skin itching for almost 2 years. I have been to 6 dermatalogist , but nobody could treat me even 1%. i have been to 3 allergists also , but it is just a total wastage of my time and my insurance money. i have been prescribed all kinds of corticosteroids and allergy pills, but everything is just a total wastage. i like to know what would you suggest?
Based on the history you have shared, general pruritus or itching may need other work up too except skin conditions. Serum urea levels, liver functions test especially bilirubin levels should be done. Skin prick tests, as well as patch tests, may also be needed to be done. Treatment should be done accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
