What Causes Constant Lower Abdominal Pain And Frequent Urination?

I am a 48 year old female who has experienced low abdominal pain and discomfort for over a month now. With a constant feeling of needing to urinate. It does not hurt to go to the toilet, but i would go at least 10 times per day and frequent waking during the night needing to go to the toilet. My bowel habits have also changed and I am going more frequently with a sudden urge which at times can be a problem if a toilet is not extremely close by. I have also started to experience discomfort during sex and am often bloated. Any ideas??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection.

I recommend doing a urinalysis to confirm the diagnosis.

The treatment usually consists of antibiotics. Ciprofloxacin is the preferred antibiotic in this diagnosis.

I also recommend drinking liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
