What Causes Constant Mucus In The Throat With Cough?

Hi, I have constant drainage to my throat. It;s clear but makes me cough or try to clear my throat. I've been taking Nyquil for 3 nights now. But I'm tired of having to cough or clear my throat. Is is something else that i can take or do I need to go to the doctor?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of constant mucus in the throat with cough which seems to be due to poor immunity of body and respiratory tract infection which travel down the respiratory tract and larynx got infected and leading to laryngitis .

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid sharp and spicy food and cold beverages and take steam inhalation on daily basis. You should take proper rest and avoid intake of outside food.

Consult ENT specialist once for proper examination. Doctor may order blood test and throat swab test along with X-ray chest. You should get immunoglobulins levels monitored as well. He/she may prescribe antibiotic course along with nasal decongestants. Start with Azithromycin 500 mg along with Montu.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
