What Causes Constant Pain And Tenderness In The Abdomen?

I have abdominal pain for 2-3 days. Thought it was gas. Belly felt tender to the touch. Somewhat better today but still tender to the touch. 20 years ago I had emergency surgery for difitticularitus.(spelling) Had part of colon removed, wore a colostomy for 3-4 months.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Constant pain in the abdomen may suggest underlying intestine infection or else.

If you can provide full details of pain, associated features, then I can figure out the more precise answer for the same.

Primary guidelines at present
- consume more liquids
- prefer soft, bland, vegan diet
- avoid all spices, non-veg kinds of stuff
- get prescription of antispasmodic as Drotaverine or Dicyclomine tablet with PPI as Omeprazole from your PCP.

Follow up after 2 days about the progress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
