Lower back pain responding to PCM only for few hrs indicated sacral joint arthritis. It has been constant but you haven't mentioned if it goes down to any leg etc. So there is no intervertebral disc problem. It's Arthralgia/ arthritis. PCM is not the answer. Not even other antiinflammatory like Brufen in the long run.

Pl get your ESR, uric acid checked for more specific diagnosis. In any case start taking natural antiinflammatory from your kitchen that is Turmeric powder. Take 1/2 to 1 tsp with warm milk or water at least twice a day. In two weeks you will feel much relieved. It's safe. May continue even for months. Rumalint liniment may be applied gently on lower back. Rumalya forte tabs may also be taken for few weeks if turmeric alone doesn't address it.

Hope it helps.
