What Causes Constant Pain In The Neck And Shoulder Post Injury?

my pain is in my neck, between neck and shoulder, shoulder, shoulder blade, to chest, arm, and elbow on right side. I fell down a long flight of stairs in 1994 resulting with these injuries and more. I have reinjured these areas many times tripping and falling very hard on concrete, starting the car, washing dishes, opening doors, cleaning house, getting into and out of bed. Just regular everyday stuff hurts me. I have had xrays (no broker bones). Physical therapy did not remove the pain. My pain is constant and more pronounced with use. I stopped taking gabapentin, it did no good, and could cause damage. Insurance dictates more therapy. More therapy causes me more pain. Could I now other problems such as pleurisy? I am very tired of pain, very little sleep, too much weight gain, little activity. The same o, same o is not helping. What can you suggest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello..... I don't suggest you to stop taking gabapentin, infact i suggest you to have gabapentin along with morphine or other opioid drugs. they have a better effect in combination. this will take away your pain and provide you a good sleep. you need to start exercising if you are obese, you can go for small smalls and jogs. make use of your shoulder as less as possible. Warm wet towel massage also reduce pain and relaxes your muscles. I suggest you to have an mri or ct done as there might be no fractured bones but there might be muscle tear or other soft tissue injury that is causing continuous pain. More over i don't think that you have pleurisy. Hurting while doing day to day works suggests more towards soft tissue injury or ligament tear.
hope you find this information effective.
thank you
