What Causes Constant Pressure And Pain In Bladder?

For awhile now, if I am sitting or laying down and my bladder gets full it becomes very painful to hold it. If I am sleeping I will have to get up and go to the bathroom because If I want to be lazy and fall back asleep, I can t because it becomes painful. I did mention this to a doctor previously but he just said to make sure not to hold it. Should I be concerned?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The symptoms mentioned by you are suggestive of some neurological problem of the urinary bladder.
Pain while holding urine suggests that the nerves which control filling and emptying of urine are not functioning properly.
Thus, I suggest you to consult an urologist for clinical assessment and specific investigation called uroflowmetry.
Uroflowmetry will determine the integrity of pathways which control bladder filling and voiding.
This investigation will also determine the most probable cause of the symptoms and thus its treatment.

Thanks and take cate
