What Causes Constant Pungent Smell In The Nose?

Everything smells fishy to me! My house, my hands, my vagina, my dog, everything! I have not cooked or eaten anything fishy in my house in several weeks. This happened about 1 1/2 months ago. My dr prescribed me a round of antibiotics since I told her I thought I had a vaginal bacteria infection. After that I didn’t notice a smell until a few days ago. Could I have another one already? I am not sexually active, I shower daily, I wear clean clothes daily. Please help me!

Hello,

You have symptoms of constant pungent smell in the nose which seems to be due to a disturbance in olfactory nerve sensations or distributions and it happens many times.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you keep your head elevated while sleeping and maintain proper oral hygiene. Avoid pricking nose with any sharp object. Use a nasal saline spray with nasal wash three puff each nostril thrice daily to keep the nose clean. You should consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. The doctor may order a certain test to find out the exact cause and treat it accordingly.
