What Causes Constant Runny Nose While Having Tonsillitis In Children?

Hi, my 3 year old soon has been having a constant runnng nose since November 2014 and he had a cold and also recently had tonsilitis diagnosed by the doctor. He snores very loudly when sleeping and sleeps with his mouth open. Please do you know what is wrong? Im very worried.

Hello and welcome to HCM!

Runny nose for such a long time may be due to several medical conditions of the upper respiratory tract.

- Allergic issues (allergic rhinitis)
- Nasal polyps (may cause snores)
- Hypertrofic tonsils (may cause snores)
- Hypertrofic adenoids (may cause snores)
- Viral infections of respiratory tracts

All these issues may cause difficulty of breathing with the nose, snores, breathing from the mouth, dry throat, etc.

I suggest you to do a full examination to an ENT doctor, for understanding what is the problem with you son.
