What Causes Constant Stomach Pain And Nausea When Diagnosed With Lung Cancer?
I have been diagnosed with lung cancer. It s early and key hole surgery is possible. However I also have continuos stomachs pain and nausea . I am sure it s not cancerous because I have had a pet scan and no other cancer showed up. I have been for ultra sound on my abdomen and my doctor wants me to see him on monday. Could I have gall stones or some kind of bike problem. It is of concern because of the lung diagnosis. Thank you for your help.

Bile problems and gallstones can cause symptoms similar to stomach problems and to best distinguish is having the ultrasound. Ultrasound can identify the gallstones and some bile problems. Some blood tests to check liver function may also help to identify bile problems. So very likely when you meet your doctor with the ultrasound result you will know if you have gallstones or not.
Stomach problems are best diagnosed with an upper endoscopy (gastroesophageal endoscopy) which consists of a camera that goes into the stomach and visualizes the inside of the stomach and the first part of the bowel (duodenum). During this examination peptic ulcer disease and stomach tumors can be diagnosed or normal findings can be found and will tell more about the origin of the pain.
If you are already taking medications some of them may also cause stomach irritation and pain so make sure you talk with your doctor on this.
