What Causes Constant Strong Chemical Smell Coming From Throat?

my son has lost a lot of weight, he is 6ft 3inches, and only weighs around 10 stone 11 lbs. he has been feeling very tired and always sleeping for hours. he has a constant very strong smell coming from his throat, its like a strong chemical smell, its so strong we can even smell it in another room when he is here, he wont go to the doctor, he is 28 yrs old, could you please shed some light on this condition

Hi, your son might be suffering from chronic tonsillitis, it can lead to bad breath and even cause weight loss and decreased sleep at night due to airway obstruction which inturn causes excessive day time sleepiness, so I suggest you to take him to ent specialist.
