What Causes Constant Urge To Be In Cold Atmosphere?

I have this thing where... I have just HAVE to be cold.. If I m not I ll get really anxious. When it s hot outside... I have to have something really cold to drink or I d cream.. Anything COLD. If I eat, it can t be warm or hot... Only cold. Showers, cold. Baths, cold. When people come into my house, they beg me to turn up heat but if I do I get really uncomfortable and like I said anxious. I don t know what is wrong with me because when I look these symptoms up on the internet .. All I get are people complaining because they DON T want to be cold. Please help, doc!!

Hi,

This is called heat intolerance and this is a sign of hyperthyroidism. Even your anxiety could be because of hyperthyroidism itself. I suggest that you check yourself for hyperthyroidism with the help of your primary care physician, please.
