What Causes Constant Vaginal Orange Bleeding?

I am working w/ a woman and she is saying her menstrual period never stops it just slow down and right now it's orange in color and she was wondering if it has anything to do w/ the tampon being left too long because she was drunk. I am hoping she is telling me everything so I hope you can help...
