What Causes Constipation, Abdominal Pain And Vomiting In Sinusitus?

I am taking Amoxic/clav 875 mg for sinusitus, and I am very constipated. I know this is not supposed to happen, but it is. I am having abdominal pain, chills and I am on the verge of vomiting. I am trying to drink some water to see if this will help. Thanks for any suggestions. I am IgG and IgA deficient and tend to have difficulty with any kind of bacteria.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello dear,

I find your concern is genuine and will try to answer as per my competency.

The symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting and chills are described side effects of AmoxiClav. But has been described in very less people who take this medication.

But constipation is not a side effect of AmoxiClav. Rather is creates diarrhea by affecting the gut organisms. Might be the constipation is due to some other medication.

I advise you to continue the medications if the symptoms are tolerable. If not please revisit your consultant.

for the constipation issue kindly do not take cold fluids and rather use worm fluids till you finish the course of medicines.

I hope this comes handy to your problem.

Thank you for the way you are in my life.
