Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had issues with my stomach for a while now. I have difficulties having a bowel movement. And slowly but surely, my stomach is getting bigger, and kind of hard, about even with the middle of my rib cage, and an area about the size of my hand, down to about my belly button.
Hardness of the stomach with bloating commonly occurs due to acid reflux, food allergies, lactose intolerance or digestive disorders. The medical conditions causing such manifestations are IBS, gastritis, Gastrointestinal disorders.
You are suggested to visit ER, get examined & get all blood & required Imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected.
You can take antacids, PPI's for relieve. You can take laxatives at bedtime. Watch your portions while you eat, avoid carb & sugars, take fiber-rich food, chew well & keep yourself well hydrated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
