What Causes Constipation And Pelvic Pain Along With Gastritis?

My symptoms are in lower abdominal/pelvis area, with black stools, constipation, lots of gas, and some pain. A couple of days ago I thought it was my ovaries but now realize the pain is lower and more centered. No fever, feel a bit bloated and tired.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are due to constipation. What is worrying me is the presence of black stools. I think you should see proctologist or gastroenterologist as soon as possible.

We should rule out stomach ulcer or any other more serious pathology. Plus, should examine if you are having haemorrhoids too.

Colonoscopy and abdominal ultrasound to confirm. Plus faecal occult blood test to rule out these serious pathologies. Meanwhile

- take plenty of water
- use gentle laxatives and stool softeners
- try to use fibre supplement (psyllium or prunes).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
