What Causes Constipation And Weight Gain After Taking Bromazepam?

I am taking 3mg Nova Bromazepam. I used to take Lectopam. Am experiencing constipation and not sure if it is due to the change from Lectopam to Bromazepam. Am also experiencing weight gain? Not sure if Nova is a brand name. It used to just show Bromazepam on the receipt from the pharmacy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Bromazepam has side effects like constipation and weight gain, it has other serious side effects too. Type and intensity of the side effects vary in different patients.

You are suggested to inform your treating doctor about the symptoms so that either the doses can be monitored or medicine replaced by any other medicine that suits you better.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
