Hello,

I would advise you to have a check of the thyroid function. These are blood tests such as TSH and FT4 that will give information on the thyroid function. Thyroid problems are common with age and they may affect the bowel, may cause headaches and may affect the mood.

Also, you can use Movicol 1-2 sachets a day for the bowel movement, have a diet rich in fiber and also make sure you drink plenty of water and be active and exercise regularly.

There are also medications for depression. An SSRI drug such as sertraline or citalopram can be considered to help with it.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
