I had MTP by tablets under the guidance of well known doctor. She said that my bleeding will stop in a week. However, after that another week i have very little bleeding. I don't need to take pad but the small amount of bleeding has not stopped.. Please guide what could be the problem.
Please do not worry. This is not an uncommon occurence after taking pills. There are two common reasons for the bleed. 1. incomplete abortion and presence of bits inside that cause bleeding. These can be seen on ultrasound and need surgical removal by a minor procedure called D and C. 2. infection: sometimes the tissue gets infected and causes bleeding. An ultrasound is needed to first rule out retained bits and then a course of antibiotics is given. Other unrelated causes may be hormonal issues, ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids.
So please see your doctor once more, get an evaluation and an ultrasound if needed.
