What Causes Continuous Bleeding For Two Weeks?

Hi. I have gotten my period two wednesdays ago, and on the sunday of that week I got the flu. It has been almost been two weeks since my period and I wake up every morning to fresh blood, and spot during the day. Is this because of the flu/ cold that I still lingering on? Or what's wrong with me?
