What Causes Continuous Bleeding While On Birth Control Pills?

i am currently on birth control pills (lo ovral) and i did skip a few pills but then i just kept taking them like normal and did not throw away the pack and start a new one. I am now bleeding and have been for almost 3 weeks, the color is very dark almost black and the flow is a bit lighter and i m almost sure this is because i skipped some pills but i am very frustrated because my period/ breakthrough bleeding wont stop. what is going on with my body and what should i do??

Dear Madam,

Breakthrough bleeding is a side effect of oral contraceptive pills. Since you have skipped the pills a few, I suggest you to talk to your OBGYN and hava a manual checkup to rule out other causes of bleeding.
