Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having continuous lower abdominal pain for 3 weeks now. I have had 3 urinary track infections in the past three months. I usually don t have urinary track infections, aside from one that I had in December these 3 are the only ones I have had. I went to the doctor when I began to have blood in my urine. I do not have any blood in my urine and this feels a little different. These symptoms began a week after treating the last infection. I have constant pain in my lower abdomen, sometimes it gets sharp enough to make me bend over. It gets worse after I eat, after I use the restroom and with more stress. It never goes away. I have not eaten any gluten, dairy or sugar since last October.
1. urinary stones that might get moving
2. problems with the gastrointestinal tract
I think it might be an overgrowth of candida or changes in intestinal flora following treatment for UTI. Should get another urine analysis done together with:
- fecal analysis
- abdominal ultrasound
Take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora until you get the results of the tests. Take cranberry and uva-ursi supplement or tea to ease the urinary pathways. Discuss this further with your caring doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
