What Causes Continuous Thick Bleeding After An Abortion With Hand Swelling?

Hi I'm a girl of 19 and I'm a bit worried as I had an abortion about 4 months ago and they had a contraceptive implant in my arm. At first thee was suppose to be a few days of bleeding well I'm still bleeding now it's strange because sometimes the blood i's more thick and browny coloured other times it's really thin and red when I drink a alcoholic drink it gets worse the next day and my hands go swollen with blotchy patches on my palms

The contraceptive implant can cause irregular bleeding and spotting for even up to 3-6 months after insertion. I am not sure who informed you that there would only be a little spotting, but the bleeding is unpredictable and can last much longer than a few days. The color of the blood is due to how fast you are bleeding; blood turns brown when it takes longer to come out, so brown blood means you are bleeding very slowly. The times the blood looks red you have some fresh bleeding.

Regarding the relationship between the bleeding and your drinking alcohol and swelling, it is doubtful if alcohol is affecting the amount you are bleeding, but it certainly make you retain more water and cause swelling of your hands. The blotchiness of your palms is caused by the swelling. Making sure you drink a lot of water after drinking before you go to bed and that can help you retain less water.
