What Causes Contractions In Pelvis And Sharp Pain In Ribs During Pregnancy?

I am 38 weeks pregnant. I have been having mild contractions for the last week. Within the last hour i have been having stronger contractions in my pelvis. And am feeling a very VERY sharp pain in my ribs every time i get a contraction. Is this normal?

it may be signs of abortion. should go for checkup. clinical examination and foetal heart rate monitoring be done. should be under bed rest with constant moniyouring.
