What Causes Cough Along With Low Grade Fever And Wheezing?

I ve had a cough for a week. I have a low grade fever and wheezing. I sometimes have wet cough but can t get anything up. I am taking OTC meds but not much help. The constant coughing is wearing me out. I don t smoke and never have. I haven t been sick this just started last weekend with a dry hacking cough, now it is sounding loose but nothing is moving. I m wondering if it s bronchitis. Any ideas?

HI, thanks for using health care magic

It is possible that it is bronchits, this causes a persistent cough. Bronchitis can be due to viral or bacterial infection. In most cases, it is viral.

Bronchitis is associated with inflammation and in some cases, temporary closure of the airways.
You may need medication to treat these areas.

Some persons need a short course of steroids to reduce the inflammation and salbutamol to help with the airway closure.

I hope this helps
