General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

It could be infection in pharynx due to virus or bacteria or some times allergic.

Especially if it has occurred suddenly while doing some work followed by jerking, buckling etc.

Generally,no treatment is required for that or you can take over the counter antihistamines like levocetrizne or diphenhydramine (benadryl) twice daily for symptomatic relief.

Consult some local doctor or GP if coughing persists.

Regards,
