What Causes Cough, Cold And Ear Infection After Alcohol Consumption?

So I took mdma for the first time day before yesterday and drank. I didn t really go out and do much just hung out with friends who did the same. I m not sure how much I did, but I do know I took two bumps. I took a light nap for about two hours, but other than that I stayed up with them and then did another bump in the morning. I really didn t feel it other then at first which only resulted in me being cold, shaky, and owl eyed. The day I did this I had a slight ear infection and a sore throat. The day after when I took another bump in the morning I took a nap and woke up with two eat infections, a sinus infection, and I m coughing up stuff. Is this from the mdma or because I didn t sleep? My cold wasn t that bad and now it s horrible...

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cough, cold and ear infection after alcohol consumption which can occur due to bacterial as well as viral infection. When upper respiratory tract infection like sore throat left untreated or due to low immunity sometimes infection get transfer to ear through Eustachian tube, which cause further complications. Your symptoms is not probably due to alcohol unless you are allergic to alcohol. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist if not getting relief with present medicine for proper diagnosis like swab test and viral culture test . Doctor may order stronger antibiotics , antiviral ( acyclovir ) along with decongestant and expectorant. For now do betadine and warm saline gargles and apply dry hot compresses to external ear , also cover it while bathing.
