What Causes Cough, Excess Mucus In The Throat And Nasal Congestion?
So in in the beginning of July, I went to China and when I came back 3 weeks later, I had a cough. During the first week of August, I went to a camp and I lost my voice due to excessive use. When I recovered, I noticed I had mucus and started having a runny and stuffy nose. So right now, weeks later I'm still coughing a lot and I constantly have mucus in my throat. I still have a runny and stuffy nose. And also, whenever I eat something that is warm or hot and I breathe in, hot air comes into my throat and I get this weird feeling in my throat and I have to cough. Does anyone know what's wrong?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cough, excess mucus in the throat and nasal congestion which seems to be due to respiratory tract infection which travel down the respiratory tract and larynx got infected and leading to laryngitis .
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper rest and avoid intake of outside food. You should avoid sharp and spicy food and cold beverages and take steam inhalation on daily basis. Consult ENT specialist once for proper examination. Doctor may order blood test and throat swab test along with X-ray chest. He/she may prescribe antibiotic course along with nasal decongestants.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
