What Causes Cough With Blood, Semi-paralysis And Non Functioning Arms And Legs?
Hi, we are concerned for my uncle who's overseas and have serious health issues. recently he's been diagnosed with we think might be lung cancer. He have a persistant cough accompained with blood and brown specks. He also have had a heart surgery long time ago, but recently he had been semi paralyazed in the left side of his body. his arm and legs are not fully functioning. He can move his fingers and bend his knees, but he cannot walk or use his left arm. It seems to also be swollen from time to time. He's mentally ok though and he can speak fine, but he's in a lot of pain. Can you please tell me what it is the he might be diagnosed with? and what should we do since doctors out there are not really experienced.
Your uncle is most probably suffering from stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to brain. Radiation to brain is needed at this moment. MRI brain and CT chest is needed for diagnosis along with biopsy from any space occupying lesion in the CT scan. For pain u can give him tab morphine 10 mg three times daily after food. For blood in cough tab pause 500 mg thrice daily after food can be given.
