What Causes Cough With Brownish Phlegm And Weakness Through Out The Day?

I have a cough with phlegm(brownish), weakness through out the day, a slight tightness in the middle of my chest, scratchy throat, hurts when I cough, pain in right side of neck with stiffness. No fever noted. However, the cough has been persistent for one week with brownish phlegm and a shallow cough existing for two months off and on.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Due to the presence of brown phlegm, it is important to have a visit to rule out important conditions such as lung infections (for instance tuberculosis) or lung tumors.

You will need a visit with your doctor to have your lungs checked and very likely the doctor will order a chest x-ray as well.
According to these, the doctor will decide if more tests are needed or if he needs to start a certain treatment.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
